JOB BACKGROUND:

Blueman Plumbing is dedicated to ensuring apprentice’s learn to the best of their ability on the job with the support of our Senior Engineers.  We are an expanding company in search of candidates that will be committed and task focused to reach the best of their ability.

You will be assisting the Senior Engineer day to day during visits to domestic and commercial properties.  Your progress will be reviewed at various stages to ensure you are on track to pass your City & Guilds 6189 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing & Heating Level 2.  Blueman Plumbing apprentices are chosen because we believe that by learning from our expert engineers you will become a valuable asset to our company and the services we provide.

Blueman Plumbing wants you to become a well respected and high calibre trades person.  You will be carrying out domestic plumbing work, repairs and installations in top residential premises dealing with reputable and well respected customers. All our work is based within Central and Greater London.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Ensure all jobs are scheduled in correctly to assist with coordinating daily job rotas.
  • Assist with all boiler installations, plumbing and property maintenance work.
  • Carry out maintenance work as required and unsupervised according to ability.
  • Flexible availability to suit weekend and evening work as required.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Undertake any other related responsibilities commensurate with the evolving objectives of the post and the evolution of Blueman Pumbing, as may reasonably be requested by the Director.
  • Work with due regard for Blueman Plumbing’s core values and objectives.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of and adherence to Blueman Plumbing’s Health and Safety policies and procedures.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

  • Participate in the Blueman Plumbing Appraisal process, and agree short, medium and long term goals with line manager.
  • Share best practice and achievements.
  • Contribute to the learning of others across the organisation by sharing knowledge and skills both informally and formally.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:  


Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • 5, A* - C GCSEs or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 6189 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing & Heating Level 2

Competencies

  • Experience in plumbing or building maintenance with a desire to improve on the job.
  • Confidence and ability to communicate clearly, friendly and professionally with a range of clients, including non-native English speakers.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and home energy products, or demonstrated interest in energy efficiency and sustainability.
  • Ability to work flexibly within a team environment.
  • Calm, flexible and enthusiastic approach.
  • Commitment to ensuring Health and Safety in the workplace.
